Which events would be good to participate in?

Instructor Lee has already talked with your child about their goals and interests for thease events.

Young or has little experience:

They will enjoy participating in Board Breaking and the Obstacle Course.

Over a year participant:

They should compete in Poomsae and Board Breaking, and can also consider participating in other events.


Important Practice Information for Competitors

I will be providing practice support for all students participating in the competition for the second time or more.

For students participating for the first time, I will provide practice assistance only upon request.

If you need help with practice, please complete your sign-up early. This will allow me to provide the appropriate training sessions you need. If a schedule adjustment is necessary, I can even make adjustments to the class schedule.

🔍 Tournament Highlights:

  1. POOMSAE Competition

    This event is about individual performance and technique. Your child can showcase what they've learned in class at their own pace.

  2. Board Breaking

    This event is all about power, focus, and technique. It's incredibly rewarding and can be a huge confidence booster, especially when they successfully break the boards.

  3. Sparring

    Multiple match opportunities – we’ll help coordinate for extra bouts
    Electronic scoring for all divisions (Color & Black Belts)
    Most points = Victory!

  4. Obstacle Course (Ages 8 & Under)

    It's a fantastic way for young children to get a feel for a tournament environment in a low-stress setting.

  5. Jumping Front Snap Kick Contest (Ages 9 & Up)

    This event challenges both height and technique. It's a great way to practice your jumping kicks.

  6. Speed Kicking (Ages 9 & Up)

    This is a test of speed and endurance. Competitors see who can land the most kicks in 30 seconds.

  7. Tug of War! (Free event for all schools!)

    Form a team of 10 (parents, families and friends) and compete against a team from other Taekwondo studios to find out!

    Feel free to bring gloves to protect your hands from the rope!

    Winners of this primitive battle of strength will receive AMAZING prizes!
